Beyonce’s new movie is continuing to struggle at the box office. Media Take Out reported that last week, the film did pretty good numbers in the Unites States, but BOMBED overseas.
This weekend, the news got worse. It’s now bombing in the US and overseas.
AMC’s second weekend of Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce at 2,539 theaters is looking at a second Friday of $1.6M, down 86% week over week. And the 3-day total is $5.2M, down 76%.
The movie has now made a combined total off $28.2M – which means after production costs and payments to the theaters, the movie likely LOST money.
That’s quite the steep drop next to Taylor Swift: Eras Tour which fell -64% in weekend 2. Renaissance‘s second frame percent wise is also worse than Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert (-67%), Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (-55%), and Michael Jackson’s This Is It (-43%).
But Beyonce’s tour made a ton of money, so all you haters shouldn’t get too excited …
