Hip Hop fans say they’re tired about Dame Dash speaking on Jay-Z, but Cam’ron says Dame is not to blame, the interviewers are.
“You get all these soundbites about ‘Dame gotta stop talking about Jay-Z,’ ‘He’s always talking about Jay-Z,’ ‘Why he talking about Jay-Z?’ You asked him about Jay-Z! He ain’t just getting up there and talking about Jay-Z this or Jay-Z that,” said Cam. “You ask him these questions so that when he answers, you can get the soundbite and then it seems like he’s just talking about n-ggas.”
The friendship between Dame and Jay ended in 2004 when Roc-A-Fella was sold to Def Jam. Jay-Z was later named as the president of the label and also received his masters, cutting Dame Dash was left out of the deal.
The word on the street is that Jay wanted to crossover into a more mainstream route while Dame wanted to continue working with the formula which had helped shoot them to the top of the charts.
