Nick Carter has denied allegations that he raped a 17-year-old autistic fan in 2001…and claims the allegations are “meritless.”
“This claim about an incident that supposedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally meritless but also entirely untrue,” Carter’s attorney, Michael Holtz, denied the allegations in a statement shared with Fox News.
“Unfortunately, for several years now, Ms. Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick – and those allegations have changed repeatedly and materially over time. No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer – there is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize,” he continued.
The woman claims the star took her to the bathroom on the bus, “told her to get on her knees,” and “pulled down his pants and exposed his genitals, ordering [Ruth] to perform sexual acts on him,” the attorney said. “Under duress, she did as Carter instructed [her] and cried throughout the ordeal.”
Shannon “Shay” Ruth, now 39 years old, filed a lawsuit against the singer. She says that after the rape, the singer called her a “retarded b—-.”
