Jennifer Lopez Denies Behind-the-Scenes Drama After Report Claims She Made Her Own Cut of New Movie

Jennifer Lopez says there’s no drama between her and Oscar-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, despite rumors of a major disagreement over their new movie.

The 57-year-old singer and actress denies claims that she took matters into her own hands by creating a separate edit of Netflix’s The Last Mrs. Parrish after allegedly disagreeing with its director.

“As we have said to Page Six, this reporting is categorically false,” Lopez, Zemeckis and Netflix said in a joint statement. “Any suggestion that the filmmakers are not working in unison is without merit.”

The denial came after Page Six Hollywood reported that Zemeckis’ version of the thriller had tested “terribly” with audiences, prompting Lopez to prepare her own cut reportedly.

Netflix rejected that account, insisting, “The film tested well, particularly with fans of Jennifer.”

A source also likened the supposed creative disagreement to “a Blake Lively situation,” recalling the controversy surrounding Lively and Justin Baldoni’s It Ends With Us.

However, Lopez and Zemeckis reportedly met recently to work on the film together, with additional discussions planned.

The upcoming thriller, adapted from Liv Constantine’s 2017 novel, follows a woman who plots to steal a wealthy woman’s husband before uncovering the couple’s dangerous secrets.

Lopez stars and produces alongside Isabel May, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Denis O’Hare.

The movie is slated for a 2027 Netflix release, though no exact premiere date has been announced.
