A judge has thrown out the claims filed against Cassie Ventura by Clayton Howard, delivering the singer a legal victory in a lawsuit connected to her former relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Howard, a former male escort who is now studying law, sued both Cassie and Diddy, claiming that he suffered psychological harm and other damages after allegedly participating in “freak offs” involving the former couple.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show that a federal judge dismissed Howard’s entire case against Cassie. The decision may not be the final word, however, because Howard was given permission to amend some of his claims.
Cassie argued that Howard filed the lawsuit only after discovering she had settled her 2023 abuse case against Diddy for a reported $20 million.
Her attorneys also referenced a supportive text Howard allegedly sent to Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, before the settlement.
“Your wife’s truth is 100% valid,” the message read in part, adding, “I’m glad she got some form of Justice!”
Howard said the text did not contradict his allegations.
Ventura filed her lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of rape, physical abuse and sex trafficking. The two sides settled the case the following day.
Diddy has denied wrongdoing in Howard’s case. Howard can now decide whether to revise his complaint and continue pursuing claims against Ventura.
