Will Smith Says Floyd Mayweather Supported Him After Oscars Slap

Media Take Out Staff |

Will Smith claims Floyd Mayweather had his back after his Oscars slap.

“For 10 days, he called me every day. And he was like, ‘Ay! You know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it.’ Every day, he called me. And it’s like, that’s my dude forever right there,” Smith is seen saying in the clip.

Weeks after the slap, Smith released a public apology to Chris Rock.

“Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk,” Smith. There is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” he said. “There’s no part of me that thinks that’s the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Rock rejected Smith’s apology, calling it a “hostage video.” Smith says he is ready whenever Rock wants to talk.
