Vivica A. Fox Shuts Down Hollywood Age Critics: I Do My Best, Honey!

Vivica A. Fox is not apologizing for growing older in an industry that often expects women to never grow old.

The actress, 61, opened up to Yahoo Entertainment about beauty standards in Hollywood.

“I’m a woman of a certain age, and, you know, life changes,” Fox said in the interview. “The body changes. You’re not going to be the same size that you were when you were 19, 20 years old. But people forget that sometimes and they can say very mean things to you.”

Fox said that despite the pressures, she feels great about her appearance.

“I’m comfortable in the skin I’m in, flaws and all,” she said. “I do my best, honey, to keep it tight and right, but I’m still human.”

“I’m in a business that you get judged by your looks constantly,” she continued, adding that some people do not allow women “to age, to be normal, to live a little bit, to have children, to look a little bit more mature.”

Fox says that aging is a “beautiful thing.”

Vivica A. Fox has kept her love life guarded. She was married to singer Christopher “Sixx-Nine” Harvest from 1998 until their 2002 divorce, later had a brief, highly publicized romance with 50 Cent in 2003, and ended a 10-month engagement to club promoter Omar “Slim” White in 2011.

More recently, Fox said she is “taking applications” for a partner, but prefers meeting someone the old-fashioned way over dating apps.
