Tory Lanez Files Explosive $100 Million Lawsuit Over Prison Attack!

Tory Lanez has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections after he was stabbed in prison in May 2025.

The rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is currently serving a 10-year sentence after his conviction in the shooting case involving Megan Thee Stallion.

According to the lawsuit, Lanez was attacked at the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi and stabbed 16 times by another inmate. He suffered injuries to his back, torso, and head, along with a collapsed lung, and was hospitalized after the incident.

Lanez is also suing the prison warden and several correctional officers. The filing claims prison officials knowingly housed him with inmate Santino Casio, who was serving a life sentence for second degree murder.

“The choice to house Casio with Peterson was known or should have been a known danger,” the lawsuit states.

The filing also says Lanez’s celebrity status made him especially vulnerable and accuses guards of responding too slowly during the attack and that he never recovered personal belongings after he was transferred to another prison, including songbooks containing lyrics to unreleased music.

Lanez was later transferred to California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo County. The lawsuit alleges officers failed to use flash grenades or measures to stop the attack. Casio has not been charged in connection with the stabbing.

In November 2025, a three-judge panel denied Lanez’s appeal and upheld the sentence.
