D4vd is expected to stand trial in February 2027 for the alleged murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas-Hernandez, whose dismembered remains were discovered inside a Tesla registered to the singer.
The 21-year-old musician, whose real name is David Burke, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom earlier this week for a hearing that lasted less than five minutes.
Looking tired and disheveled, d4vd stood beside his newly appointed attorney, Walid Kandeel, as both sides agreed to return for a final status conference on Jan. 11.
The singer spoke only once, responding, “Yes, Your Honor,” when asked whether he agreed to the proposed court dates.
D4vd has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors allege Celeste was stabbed to death and dismembered before her remains were placed in bags and hidden inside the vehicle.

Her body was discovered in September 2025, around what would have been her 15th birthday.
The public defender’s office now represents D4vd after his previous attorneys withdrew.
Celeste’s family has also filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the singer, his businesses and business managers.
Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to pursue the death penalty.
