Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of Porsha Williams, has broken his silence after being deported back to Nigeria after spending months in ICE custody.
Guobadia says he was caught off guard when ICE agents boarded his plane and escorted him off.
Guobadia told Us Weekly that he was asked a bunch of questions about my business and where I was coming from, then told me to hand over my devices.
Agents seized his laptop and two phones, one for business in Dubai and the other for work in the U.S. According to the reality star, he had his mobile office on him, adding that he gave them the passcodes for a forensic check.
“After that, they basically came and told me that I was being detained and that they would be taking me in, and I’ll be seeing a judge at some point. So they slapped the cuffs on and I was taken away,” he told Us Weekly.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, who was deported to Nigeria, said the arrest happened just days before the Season 16 premiere, adding that it was strange and, that his immigration status was not secret and that he’d never had any problems traveling before.

“It felt like a target because they had no reason [and] it felt like a target on a number of fronts. One, for sure, is the new administration and new administration policies, they’ve heightened their targets apparently as agents are waiting, looking through flight [logs] for names that may have popped up on their radar and take them into custody,” he said to the outlet.
Guobadia revealed he was held in segregation during his time in ICE custody, isolated in a cell for 23 hours a day. He was given the option of being in the general population but declined because the facility housed “some dangerous people.”
“I understood why people would kill themselves, but I’m too strong to do that. But I understand why people, when you [are] put in a certain mental headspace, you start to understand why people do what they do,” he told Us.
He also thinks it’s possible that Porsha, or somebody else close to her, called the authorities on him.
