Britney Spears’ husband Sam Asghari has shot down rumors that he and other friends, family members and the singer’s doctor tried to host an intervention after becoming concerned about her behavior.
“An intervention did not occur. My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately,” he told Access.
According to TMZ, the pop singer is struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues. The intervention was meant to go down on Tuesday but it was allegedly called off after Britney became “somewhat aware” of the plan. As a compromise, the star went to see a doctor the following day.
Britney also denied the reports on Instagram.
“It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough,” she wrote. “As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read!”
