Alexis Bellino is setting the record straight about a tense moment at BravoCon and how life has changed since marrying John Janssen.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star opened up about the unexpected encounter with Shannon Beador, her current husband’s ex.
Alexis, 48, said she crossed paths with Shannon, 61, in a hotel hallway during the fan convention. The sighting caught both women off guard.
“I saw Shannon coming out of a room and she was like, dying that I’m there,” Bellino recalled.
She noticed that Shannon was waiting for the elevator. Wanting to avoid creating an uncomfortable scene, Alexis decided not to step into the same elevator. Later, she found herself wishing she had handled it differently.
“I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. I know she is struggling to move past everything,” she explained. “But after thinking about it, I will not do that again.”
Alexis said she has reflected on the situation and is ready to stop tiptoeing around tension.
“I am going to just say hi and get on. Who cares? Life moves quickly and there is no reason to make things heavier than they need to be.”
Bellino also addressed whether she has formally changed her last name after marrying Janssen, 63.
“I am Alexis Janssen legally,” she confirmed. She added that the paperwork involved in completing the full change will take more time.
