The former Prince Andrew is once again facing scrutiny after a royal source claimed his late father, Prince Philip, spent years worrying about his place within the monarchy.
According to Radar Online, the source said Philip believed Andrew was “different” from the rest of the royal family and viewed him as a risk to the future of the crown.
“Andrew’s problem is that he’s gullible and easily led, which is how he finds himself in the wrong company,” the insider claimed.
The source alleged Philip often complained privately that Andrew did not take his royal responsibilities seriously and instead treated “everything like a joke.”
Because of those concerns, Philip reportedly wanted Andrew removed from palace life altogether. The insider claimed the late duke saw his son as a “loose cannon” and a “threat to the legacy of the crown.”
Although Philip reportedly shared his concerns with Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch reportedly resisted taking major action while he was still alive. He is now reportedly staying at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

After Philip’s death in April 2021. In January 2022, Andrew lost his honorary military titles and royal patronages. Three years later, Andrew was stripped of the title “Prince” and the style “Royal Highness.” He was also ordered to leave Royal Lodge, where he had lived with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson. Andrewwas stripped of titles after years of controversy tied to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, allegations of misconduct, and mounting pressure on the monarchy to distance itself from him.
Buckingham Palace said the decision was made by King Charles III through formal Letters Patent, ending Andrew’s use of any royal title in public life.
