Patriots Coach Defends Stefon Diggs Amid Assault Charges

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is addressing the recent allegations involving wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Vrabel acknowledged the charges made public earlier in the week stemming from an alleged December 2 incident.

“These are allegations,” Vrabel said. “It’s something we have to handle, but I don’t think we have to jump to any conclusions right now.”

Vrabel confirmed the organization is standing by Diggs while the legal process continues. “We support Stefon,” he explained. “Everybody that we care about and have been close to for a while, we support. We understand there are allegations, but we also want to support each and every player.”

When asked if the situation could impact Diggs’ availability, Vrabel downplayed immediate concerns. “I haven’t heard anything that would keep him from the game,” he said, adding that the team remains focused on preparation.

The coach also rejected the idea that the issue has shaken the locker room. “Afraid? No, I’m not afraid,” Vrabel said. “I love coaching this football team. I love the leadership, including from Stef.”

Vrabel said Diggs has denied the allegations internally but declined to share details. “I’m going to let the court process take its course,” he said. “Our focus is improving through practice and finishing what we started.”
