There’s a battle going on in the Twitter verse between two of the biggest female stars of hip hop – Nicki Minaj and Latto, Media take Out has confirmed. Nicki has been getting into it with a lot of women lately. And this time, she’s going hard at Latto.
It all started when Nicki explained that the Grammy’s have decided to label Nicki’s new hit song Super Freaky Girl as a “pop” song, instead of a hip hop song. By labeling it a “pop” song, it makes it VERY unlikely to win the Grammy – as she will be going against some of the biggest artists in the world for the Pop Song Of The Year Grammy.
Had the Grammy’s labeled the song a “hip hop” track, it would be the frontrunner at the Grammys this year. Nicki Minaj – despite being the best female hip hop artist in history – has never received a Grammy.
While Nicki was explaining the issue, she mentioned that last year Big D Energy, by Latto was labelled a hip hop song. “I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY,” Minaj tweeted late Thursday, in response to her submission being moved out of her chosen category. “If SFG (‘Super Freaky Girl’) has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy!” she added, referring to the Latto hit of that name. “ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll.”
Latto took offense to Nicki bringing her name up, and DM’d Nicki – and the Barbie queen went IN.
Latto responded:
Nicki then went on IG Live and read her for filth. Calling Latto – whose mother is White a Karen. She claims that Latto’s latest album flopped, and according to Nicki, the Atlanta rapper will probably “wipe offf her dark makeup, and go back to being a Karen.”
Wow.
Latto then leaked a conversation that the two women had.
