Podcasters Rory and Mal are speaking out to dispel rumors that Jay-Z had them removed from their section at Roots Picnic 2026.
“I was home watching game 7,” Mal wrote on X.
Tasha then tried to get a response out of his cohost, Rory.
“Rory did Jayz kick you out of his section? You posted my tweet, but didn’t answer the allegations… Everything is allegedly! Even my name is allegedly,” Taska K wrote on X.

The incident allegedly occurred at Saturday night’s Western Conference Finals showdown between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, which took place the same night Jay-Z headlined the festival.
The rapper’s Roots Picnic set marked his first solo headlining show in the United States in more than seven years, giving fans plenty to discuss after he delivered a freestyle that many believed included references to Drake, Dame Dash, Nicki Minaj, Ye, and Tory Lanez.

The Drake online frenzy grew the loudest after Jay-Z rapped, “A rapper can’t be my opp.”
He continued, “The jig is up / N—a I’m up 10 / Wrong chart, champ, you gotta look up again / N—as look up to HOV / I never looked up to them.”
Fans linked the lyrics to Drake’s track “Janice STFU,” where the Toronto rapper said, “You boys got big off my name, that’s big enough / We know how you OGs rockin’ already, my n—a, the jig is up.”
