Love Island star Olandria Carthen issued a public statement after a clip showing her former reality star castmate, Huda Mustafa, and her boyfriend, Perfect Match star Louis Russell, were caught laughing on a livestream when a caller referred to her as the n-word.
In her statement, Olandria made it clear that she does not condone racism and urged her followers to donate to several organizations that fight for the rights of African Americans.
“Words like that carry generations of pain, and pretending otherwise only keeps the cycle going,” she said.

“Defending it, laughing about it, or making excuses is even worse. I will not let this moment derail my purpose of uplifting my community. I’m standing firm in who I am and using this as an opportunity to call for real accountability and awareness.”
Olandria later added, “While I anticipate this will result in surface level apologies that fade in a few days, I’d like to transform this moment into something actionable.”
Huda has previously been called out for refusing to condemn her fans who have attacked Olandria and Chelley Bissainthe throughout and in the weeks following the Season 7 finale.
