Jennifer Lopez visited the Today Show alongside Brett Goldstein, her Office Romance co-star, where host Savannah Guthrie asked her about the rumors linking the two offscreen.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” Lopez, 56, said.
Goldstein, 45, also responded to the gossip.
“I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens,” he said. “That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.”
Guthrie then pressed again, telling Lopez, “OK, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me. That was not an answer.”
“That was not an answer?” Lopez responded. “It was an answer. Because all these people that they put me, I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. I was with… There were a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true.”
Guthrie then asked, “OK, so you’re not dating in real life?”
“Not dating,” Lopez confirmed.
“Correct,” Goldstein said.
om. After Lopez teased Guthrie for appearing “flustered,” Guthrie admitted, “I did. I got flustered. It’s you, Jennifer!”
“You tried to fluster us, and we flustered you!” Lopez said.
Lopez and Goldstein have drawn attention while promoting Office Romance, especially after Lopez appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and praised Goldstein when asked about her best onscreen kiss.
“I’m gonna say my favorite … I just did a movie with Brett Goldstein, and I’d say he was the best kisser,” she said.
Goldstein has said the speculation reached people from his own past.
“I have had people from school ask me, yeah,” he told The Daily Beast last year. When asked if friends had questioned whether he was dating Lopez, he replied, “Yeah… yeah. It’s insane.” He added, “I’m a very private person, and I like to be able to go to Target.”
