HBO Max Is CANCELLING They LGBTQ+ New Series Legendary … Due To ‘Poor Viewership’!!

Media Take Out Staff |

HBO Max’s hit series ‘Legendary‘ is getting canceled after three seasons, Media Take Out has confirmed.. While the official word is that the series will not be getting picked up for a another season due to the HBO Max and Discovery Plus merger – the REAL reason for the cancellation is “poor ratings.”

HBO Max and Discovery+ are merging into a new streaming service – and they are cutting a ton of shows to save money. And many of HBOs lowest rated shows are getting the axe, Media Take Out confirmed.

‘Legendary’ had a niche audience, but never gained breakout success – so it’s a wrap for the show.

The show is a voguing reality competition series, exploring the world of ballroom culture. It premiered on HBO Max on May 27, 2020. The series follows LGBT house members—predominantly from eight to ten houses—as they navigate through nine balls (dancing/voguing/walking events), with a $100,000 prize for the winning house.

The series was previously praised by GLAAD for featuring queer and trans artists “from the New York ballroom scene.”

To date, there had been 3 seasons of ‘Legendary’ with no word if it will be renewed for a 4th.  Now we know it won’t. Seasons 1 and 2 of the series are currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
