D4vd’s former friend Aysia Collins says the singer convinced her that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was 19 after she confronted him about his alleged relationship with the then-13-year-old.
Collins, who socialized with both D4vd and Celeste, said she initially challenged the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, and demanded evidence when he claimed the teenager was an adult. According to Collins, he supplied unspecified “proof,” leading her to stop pressing him because she felt she was “harassing a friend.”
She has since accused D4vd of deceiving those around him. In June, Collins called him a “psychopath” who “lied and betrayed everyone around him.”
D4vd, 21, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors allege he killed Celeste after she threatened to reveal their sexual relationship.
The 14-year-old’s dismembered remains were discovered in multiple bags inside the front trunk of D4vd’s Tesla in September.
The singer remains jailed without bail and is scheduled to return to court July 21 for a preliminary hearing. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said prosecutors expect the hearing to last between three and seven days.
