XXXtentacion’s alleged killers are currently on trial and during the opening statements, the attorney for the defense says that they want Drake to be called to the stand.
Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, are charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm. Robert Allen took a plea deal for a 2nd-degree murder charge and will testify against the others.
Williams’ attorney requested that Drake sit for a deposition in the trial and that neither Drake nor his lawyers have responded to requests by the defendants to appear for a zoom deposition. The judge then allowed the attorney to make a rule of show cause which is a direct subpoena under the courts with a purge date.
XXXTENTACION and Drake beefed back in 2017. XXX accused him of stealing his ideas for his “God’s Plan” music video.
In 2018, X even tweeted: “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi.” Later, X would claim his Twitter was hacked.
