Dame Dash warns Jay-Z that a Super Bowl halftime performance could destroy his career if it goes badly, and he wants no part of the show.
The former Roc-A-Fella Records executive shared his concerns in a recent interview, asking why Jay-Z would seek an even bigger spotlight while already facing online hate.
“If you do a show like the Super Bowl and it’s terrible, it ruins your whole career,” Dash said.
Dash believes that Jay’s public image has taken a beating and suggested a major televised performance would only invite more scrutiny.
“Why would he go on tour and do the Super Bowl?” Dash asked.
The “Cheap Teef” artist also predicted that Jay-Z would bring out Beyoncé but doubted whether repeatedly relying on his wife and other celebrity guests would deliver the kind of performance audiences expect, referencing Dr. Dre’s 2022 Super Bowl appearance.
“Don’t even call me for the Super Bowl,” he said. “I’m not going.”
The businessman also said he felt some sympathy for his former partner.
“It must be tiring to be Jay-Z,” he added, noting that he believed his former business partner gave poor professional advice and that this is why he would agree to the performance.
