D4vd has been moved to a Los Angeles County jail following his arrest in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the singer was transferred Monday night to Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
Officials said D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, is being housed separately from the general jail population because of his status as a high-profile inmate and he will remain in segregation while he awaits his next court appearance.
D4vd was arrested last week and later charged with first-degree murder with special circumstances.
Prosecutors allege Burke killed Celeste after she threatened to expose their alleged relationship. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said authorities believe the singer used a “sharp instrument” during the killing.

He also faces additional charges involving alleged sexual acts with a minor and mutilation of a body.
Burke appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to all charges. His family later released a statement through their attorney.
“We are disappointed but not surprised that the District Attorney made this decision,” the statement said. “David’s family stands behind him 100%.”
Celeste’s family attended the hearing but did not speak publicly afterward.
D4vd is being held without bail as the case continues.
