Brittany Cartwright’s Ex Denies Being Lazy After ‘The Valley’ Money Scene!

Lyndon Abioye |

Brandon Hanson is defending himself after The Valley showed him accepting money from Brittany Cartwright, saying he was not paid by Bravo, was not chasing fame, and only took the help because it allowed him to support his kids while being there for her.

After the episode aired, viewers criticized Brandon online, calling him “lazy” and a “deadbeat.” Brandon responded on X, explaining that Brittany offered to help cover his bills when he took time off work to visit her and help after her mommy makeover.

“When she’s a millionaire and she wants to help me or give me money to come hang out why would i decline?” Brandon wrote. “That one week worth of money paid my rent for the month and put food on the table for my kids.”

Brandon, who began dating Brittany, 37, after her split from Jax Taylor, 46, said the arrangement was not about taking advantage of her.

“She didn’t have to do anything she offered,” he wrote. “It wasn’t a matter of me affording … a week off if I was able to still make half my money at work by using PTO and she covered my bills for the month why would I turn that down?”

Brandon also denied that he appeared on the Bravo show for attention.

“My point is if i was a [clout] chaser I’d still be on the show I’d still be trying to date Brittany,” he wrote. “We broke up after this scene I haven’t been a part of the show or around since November of last year me and Brittany are still friends in private. I don’t need the clout.”

He said he has a full-time job, owns a small business, and was not paid to film.

“I was there every week, sometimes twice a week, for months unpaid because I wanted to be there,” he wrote. “I wasn’t paid to be on the show.”

Brandon added that Brittany treated him well, writing, “Brittany was nothing but sweet and kind to me. We’re still friends.”
