T.I. Asks Judge to Toss Sabrina Peterson’s Emotional Distress Claim!

Lyndon Abioye |

T.I. is asking a federal judge to toss what may be the final remaining claim in Sabrina Peterson’s case against him.

According to AllHipHop, the Atlanta rapper filed a motion on June 15 asking United States District Judge Fernando M. Olguin to dismiss Peterson’s emotional distress claim. Peterson first accused T.I. in 2021 of pointing a gun at her head, an allegation he and his wife, Tiny Harris, have denied.

The current issue stems from a July 2025 Instagram video in which T.I. told followers, “It’s a beautiful day to not spread lies and to not be negative. It’s a beautiful day, man, to mind your business.” Peterson has argued that the video was directed at her and caused her emotional harm, but T.I.’s legal team disagrees, saying the post did not mention Peterson by name, tag her, or directly refer to her.

His attorney, J. Cameron-Banks, also argued that Peterson has not provided new facts to support the claim and instead continues to rely on past allegations from 2007 and 2014, according to the outlet.

Peterson previously sued T.I. and Tiny for defamation, invasion of privacy, emotional distress, and other claims, and while several claims have since been dismissed, Peterson was ordered to pay more than $96,000 in legal fees.

T.I. also filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Peterson in 2024 over social media claims he says were false.

A hearing is reportedly set for July 30.
