Authorities say there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play at the Atlanta home where B2K singer Raz B and wife Mona Li’s 3-month-old son, Astro Monte Thornton, died earlier this month.
Atlanta police were called to the home shortly after 8 a.m. on Sept. 8 following a report of a “person down,” according to an incident report obtained by TMZ.
Officers arrived and found Astro unresponsive. EMS personnel also responded before the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances prompted responses from both the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit. Police obtained a search warrant and collected items investigators believed could be relevant to the case.
Still, detectives noted that they did not observe obvious signs of trauma or foul play.
Astro was turned over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine how he died.
Raz B and Li announced their baby boy’s unexpected death days later. Astro, whom the couple welcomed in May, was their second child. They are also parents to an older son, Versai.
The medical examiner’s office subsequently told the breaking news outlet that Astro’s autopsy had been completed.
