Olivier Martinez is asking his ex-wife, Halle Berry, to pay a $240,000 legal bill as their custody battle over their teenage son continues.
The 60-year-old French actor claims the proceedings have hit his finances and that he currently receives an average of only $776.34 a month in residual income, according to legal documents TMZ obtained.
Martinez says he owes his attorneys $176,522.58 and wants Berry to provide an additional $63,477.42 toward future legal expenses. His filing also lists monthly living expenses totaling $17,555.99, despite reporting approximately $43,206 in available funds across his accounts.
Berry, 60, and Martinez continue navigating a tricky custody case involving their 13-year-old son, Maceo. During recent proceedings, a judge lifted a temporary restraining order but left Martinez with primary physical custody under a temporary arrangement. Martinez previously made allegations that Berry had choked their son, a claim she denies.
Maceo also appeared before the court to give testimony behind closed doors. Neither Berry nor Martinez was permitted to remain in the courtroom during his testimony.
The former couple married in 2013 and separated two years later, eventually finalizing their divorce in 2023.
The court has not announced a decision on Martinez’s $240,000 request.
