Nicki Minaj has herself another number one hit song. As Media Take Out reported yesterday, Nicki’s new track Big Foot – which savagely dragged Megan Thee Stallion, is blowing up all across the music industry.
Now we’ve confirmed that the new track is the number one streaming song on Apple Music worldwide …. not just the United States. The song displaced Justin Timberlake’s new single Selfish, which before Nicki’s drop – was slated to be the top song this week.
We obtained the latest iTunes chart showing the streaming numbers for yesterday.
Nicki Minaj is having a career renaissance that just a few years ago, was unthinkable.
Nicki’s career took a pretty big hit, when rival female rapper Cardi B blew up nearly 5 years ago. She was an industry darling and it appeared that Nicki would be relinquishing her crown to Cardi.
And even when Cardi cooled down, female rappers like Ice Spice, Latto and Sexyy Red were seen as the heir apparent to the thrown.
But Nicki proved EVERYONE WRONG in 2023, when she launched her comeback track Barbie World. The song quickly jumped to #1 on the charts – and it set off a series of events which drove Nicki back to “Queen” status.
Before the year ended, Nicki dropped her Pink Friday 2 album, which is widely considered to be the best female rap album of the year.
And now she starts 2024 off like this … we all may have to take a knee and bow down to our new QUEEN!!
