Lisa Vanderpump Confirms ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Recasting Decision Was Not Hers to Make

Lisa Vanderpump is speaking out about the decision to recast Vanderpump Rules.

According to the reality star, she did not make the decision.

“It wasn’t just my decision. It’s the network. Everybody really thought about it,” LVP told Access Hollywood. “I think it was like, we told the story. It was time to go back to the original premise of the show, which was so fascinating. It was time to go back to grassroots.”

The show went downhill after Tom Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss went public. Leviss quickly left the show but relationships between all of the cast members were tense and producers reportedly decided that it was best for the show to bring in some fresh, new faces.

“This one didn’t want to film with this one and this one wouldn’t be in the same room as that one and that’s not what it was about,” she continued. “[But] I think we had a great run. It’s been 12 years, 11 seasons. I cannot minimize and I don’t want to, the importance of how great that cast was and how open they were.”

Filming for the new season of Vanderpump Rules will begin in 2025.
