Stephen A. Smith unleashed a scathing attack on comedian D.L. Hughley while defending his controversial visit to the White House to meet with President Donald Trump.
The ESPN personality blasted Hughley during his SiriusXM show, criticizing the comedian for questioning his motives and accusing him of turning against his own community.
“Excuse my language. F–k it, I’mma say his name. DL Hughley,” Smith declared.
“You’re supposed to be a comedian making people laugh, looking like you got horns coming out of your damn head,” he continued.
“What you doing for America? What you doing for the black community other than popping s–t? What you doing?” he asked.
The controversial sports commentator defended meeting Trump alongside Bill Maher, explaining that he wanted to discuss Black unemployment, funding for historically Black colleges and universities, and diversity initiatives.
Smith insisted that speaking directly with the president did not mean he supported his policies.
He later returned to Hughley, mocking the comedian’s career and questioning his access to influential figures.
“Oh, I forgot your a– ain’t can’t get to the White House,” Smith said.
He also referenced Hughley’s former sitcom, adding, “Been a long time since the Hughley’s, huh?”
“There’s a difference between selling out and looking out,” he concluded.
