Jeezy has finally spoken out about his decision to file for divorce from his wife, Jeannie Mai.
“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart,” Jeezy’s statement to XXL reads.
He continued: “Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves. During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”
Jeezy filed papers in Fulton County Superior Court in September. He is also seeking joint custody of their daughter.
The couple tied the knot in March 2021. They have a prenuptial agreement so it’s unlikely that Jeannie Mai will be walking away with half of Jeezy’s reported $20 million net worth.
