Druski has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to create original programming, beginning with a comedy series starring him as a money-hungry megachurch pastor alongside Mike Epps.
The streaming giant announced the partnership Monday, revealing that Collect & Praise will premiere Dec. 1.
The semi-scripted comedy will see the Atlanta-based entertainer trading his viral internet antics for the pulpit, with Epps joining him as another questionable religious leader.
“I’ve built my platform by creating characters and comedy that resonate with people,” Druski said in a statement. “This partnership with Netflix will give me the resources to build on that comedy foundation and bring my work to a new global audience.”
The deal also gives Netflix access to several of his popular YouTube series, including Coulda Been Love, Coulda Been Daddy and Coulda Been Records Auditions.
Netflix executive John Derderian praised Druski’s comedic appeal.
“Druski has a gift for building characters that people can’t stop talking about,” he said.
The announcement adds to an already packed year for the comedian, who hosted the BET Awards in June and is preparing to host Saturday Night Live.
He also has a film adaptation of his viral Diggers sketch in development with Kenya Barris and a role alongside Emma Stone and Chris Pine in the upcoming romantic comedy The Catch.
