Sean “Diddy” Combs has knocked out another federal lawsuit, with a judge dismissing a case that accused the disgraced music mogul of drugging, sexually assaulting, and trafficking an aspiring entertainer.
Judge Jennifer L. Rochon granted Diddy’s request to dismiss Julian Sapp’s lawsuit on September 18, closing the federal case, per AllHipHop.
Sapp claimed he first met Diddy in Las Vegas in 2007 while working as an adult entertainer. According to his complaint, Diddy later promised to help him pursue a music career, but Sapp alleged the relationship instead involved repeated forced sexual encounters, even accusing Diddy of confiscating his phone, preventing him from leaving, displaying firearms and threatening to release secretly recorded sexual footage.
Diddy denied the accusations and maintained that Sapp’s claims were filed years too late, as Sapp said his final in-person encounter with Diddy occurred around November 2012, but his lawsuit was not filed until February 2025.
“That extended delay despite an absence of contact demonstrates a lack of due diligence,” Rochon wrote while rejecting Sapp’s argument that alleged threats prevented him from suing earlier.
Claims including sex trafficking, forced labor, sexual battery, assault and false imprisonment were dismissed.
One New York City gender-motivated violence claim was dismissed without prejudice, meaning Sapp may attempt to bring it in state court.
Diddy remains in federal prison following his 2025 conviction on two prostitution-related transportation charges.
