Dame Dash Appears to Mock Jay-Z’s Roots Picnic Look Following Viral Freestyle!

Lyndon Abioye |

Damon Dash has seemingly responded after Jay-Z’s latest lyrical jabs sent hip-hop fans into a frenzy.

The Roc-A-Fella Records cofounder shared an AI-generated image on social media featuring a cartoonish character resembling “Goofy,” dressed in an outfit similar to the one Jay-Z wore at The Roots Picnic.

Dash tagged Jay-Z in the post without offering a long explanation, but fans were already expecting him to clap back and quickly deduced that the shot was a response to the viral bars.

Jay-Z addressed several others in the freestyle, including Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Tory Lanez. Dash, whose history with Jay-Z dates back to their Roc-A-Fella days, has remained one of the more outspoken figures connected to the mogul’s past.

Over the years, Dash has discussed Jay-Z in interviews while speaking about their business history, the rise and split of Roc-A-Fella, and their personal fallout, while Jay-Z, meanwhile, has rarely responded directly in public.

Jay-Z and Dame Dash were once friends who helped build Roc-A-Fella Records from the ground up alongside Kareem “Biggs” Burke in the 1990s. Together, they helped take Jay-Z from an independent Brooklyn rapper to one of rap’s defining stars, with Roc-A-Fella becoming the home of albums like Reasonable Doubt, Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life and The Blueprint. The friendship eventually fell apart and so did the business and things have never been the same between them.
