Yung Filly is heading back to London as he prepares for another Australian trial over rape allegations next year.
A judge granted the British entertainer permission on Thursday to leave Australia while he remains on bail, allowing him to stay in Britain until shortly before proceedings resume in Perth.
Judge Linda Black acknowledged that the upcoming retrial is expected to be expedited but could still face delays.
“It seems to me it is appropriate to return to his home country until he is needed for his retrial,” she said.
Yung Filly, whose legal name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was convicted last month of two assault charges stemming from an encounter with a woman at a Perth hotel in September 2024.
Jurors found him not guilty on three rape counts. They could not agree on verdicts for three others, which prosecutors intend to take back to trial.
Barrientos, 31, had been touring Australia and had already performed in Sydney and Melbourne before arriving in Perth.
His new bail terms require him to return to Britain by August 31. He must come back to Australia 10 days before the retrial and hand over his passport within 24 hours.
Barrientos cannot contact the woman involved in the case or a key prosecution witness. He is also not allowed to make any public comments about the proceedings.
Sentencing on his assault convictions will take place after the retrial.
