Da Brat nearly traded the mic for a peach, but the idea of joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta ultimately proved too stressful.
In a new interview while promoting her book The Way Love Goes, the rapper shared that she and her wife, Jesseca Harris-Dupart, were approached more than once about appearing on the Bravo series. Still, Da Brat said the show’s reputation for conflict gave her pause. “I’m scared,” she admitted to US Weekly. “There’s going to be conflict. They’re going to throw something at you to make you want to be mad.”
Da Brat, 51, explained that producers know her temper is not exactly legendary for its patience. “I feel like they know my temper is pretty short, and they’re definitely going to try me,” she said. “It made me nervous when we talked about it.”
Judy agreed that reality TV drama is not worth risking their peace, especially given Da Brat’s past legal issues. “My wife is a convicted felon,” she said, explaining why ensemble cast shows are a concern.
The couple previously opened their lives to cameras on Brat Loves Judy, which documented their marriage and journey to parenthood. For now, Da Brat says peace comes first, though she left the door cracked open. “If the opportunity comes later, when our son is a bit older,” she said, “we might dive into it.”
