Ts Madison has reacted to Donald Trump rolling back rights for the trans community on his first day in office.
“Honey, it didn’t bother me because I’m one gender—and that’s trans, OK?” she told TMZ.
“As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” Trump said during his inauguration speech. The White House says it’s the president’s priority to “establish male and female as a biological reality and protect women from radical gender ideology.”
Trump’s executive orders declare there are now only two genders in the U.S. and that all trans women who wereborn males return to all-male prisons.
“You can put legal sanctions on anything, but you can never ever change anybody’s identity. You have the right to identify exactly however you choose to identify, always.”
“This isn’t just about trans people,” Madison added. “It’s an attack on everybody.”
The Bureau of Prisons oversees approximately 1,500 trans women and 750 trans men. Trump’s order appears to only refer to trans women.
