President Donald Trump could lose support from young male voters if he refuses to help Andrew Tate, according to the jailed influencer’s attorney.
Joseph McBride told Vanity Fair that Tate played a role in Trump’s 2024 election victory and said the Republican Party could face consequences for distancing itself from his legal battle.
“If your superhero is betrayed by somebody,” McBride said, “the person who’s betrayed them, how can you support them ever again?” He also declared, “Andrew Tate was a material participant in ensuring President Trump’s victory.”
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt answered “no” when asked whether the president planned to intervene in the extradition case. Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave a similar response, telling reporters, “There’s no role for us to play at this moment, or maybe ever in that regard.”

Andrew, 39, and his brother Tristan Tate, 38, remain in custody in Miami as they challenge extradition to the United Kingdom. British prosecutors have brought 59 charges against them, including allegations of rape, assault, human trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses involving indecent images of a child.
The alleged conduct occurred between 2010 and 2017. The brothers have denied all allegations.
Trump has previously denied knowing about efforts to lobby his administration on their behalf, saying, “I know nothing about that.”
