Trump Blames Staffer for Offensive Obama Video & Refuses to Apologize

Donald Trump responded to backlash after a racially offensive video depicting Barack Obama and Michelle Obama appeared on his Truth Social account, distancing himself from the post and declining to apologize.

When asked about the video, Trump said it was shared by a staff member and insisted he did not see the full clip before it was reposted. “A staffer posted,” he said. “I saw the beginning and passed it on. Probably nobody reviewed the end of it. Somebody slipped and missed a very small part.”

Trump emphasized that he was not personally responsible for uploading the content. “I didn’t do it,” he said. “It was done by someone else. This was a retruth. It was not done by us.”

A reporter followed up by noting that the White House had confirmed a staffer was responsible and asked whether that person would face consequences. Trump rejected that idea. “No,” he replied. “I looked at it. I didn’t see the whole thing. I gave it to the people, they posted it.”

When pressed on whether he owed the Obamas or the public an apology, Trump was firm. “No,” he said. “I didn’t make a mistake.”

The post quickly drew criticism online, with many calling it offensive and inappropriate. Trump did not address the content of the video itself.
