President Donald Trump accused Fox News of helping Republicans lose Tuesday’s midterm elections, then called into the same network for a late-night interview just minutes after attacking it.
The president’s frustration boiled over on Truth Social as Democrats secured major victories.
“FoxNews bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Dumocrat opposition, and worse,” Trump declared.
His objections began earlier in the day with a personal attack on Jessica Tarlov, a co-host of The Five.
Trump called Tarlov “DUMB AS A ROCK” and announced he was switching channels because he couldn’t stand her voice.
“I realize my comments highlighting the highest gas prices on any Election Day aggravated the president, but reality is a tricky thing and he should get better at dealing with it,” Tarlov clapped back on X.
Trump also blasted Fox’s polling, contested its political coverage, and claimed viewers were abandoning the network.
“Every question is a hit job,” he complained about its polls.
Shortly after midnight Wednesday, Trump joined Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum for a phone interview lasting more than 15 minutes.
He again bashed the network’s polling but stopped short of repeating his accusation that Fox caused Republican losses.
“Historically, I think I’ll be judged for having done the right thing,” Trump said.
