Tristan Thompson has revealed publicly that he never planned to tell Khloé Kardashian he cheated while she was pregnant with their daughter True.
The NBA player, 35, opened up during a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay, reflecting on the scandal that hit just before Kardashian gave birth in 2018. Asked whether he warned her before the news became public, Thompson said he did not.
“At 25 I ain’t saying that,” he told Sharpe. “I was more like, ‘I just hope nobody finds out.’”
Thompson said he now sees that response as part of his immaturity at the time, that he had recently won a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and that dating Kardashian added another level of attention.
“When you date someone that’s in the camera and high profile, you have to understand you’re under a magnifying glass,” he continued.
Thompson and Kardashian began dating in 2016. They share daughter True and son Tatum, and their on-off relationship weathered multiple public scandals, including his 2019 involvement with Jordyn Woods, then Kylie Jenner’s best friend. The scandal ruined Jenner and Woods’ friendship, and Jada Pinkett was forced to step in to protect Woods from the Kardashian/Jenner PR machine.
In 2021, it was revealed that Thompson had fathered a son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols while he and Kardashian were still together. He also shares a son, Prince, with Jordan Craig.
He added that he and Kardashian are now in a “great place.”
