Todd Tucker is brushing off criticism over a steamy scene featuring Shamea Morton in Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta, making it clear the scene was just a part of the job.
After Todd shared the intimate clip while promoting the film, some viewers questioned both the scene and the decision to use it in the rollout but Todd appeared unfazed.
“I may direct the best sex scenes!” he wrote.
When the backlash continued to rise, he doubled down, adding, “It’s acting.”
Todd explained that actors are told what their roles require before agreeing to appear in the film. Shamea also previously praised the environment Todd and Kandi Burruss created during production.
“I appreciated the set Kandi and Todd provided,” said Shamea. “If I needed a moment to get out of character, they gave me that.”
The movie arrives as Todd continues making headlines over his split from Kandi. He has recently spoken publicly about their divorce and relationship while promoting Til Divorce Do Us Part, drawing criticism from Kandi over some of the personal details he shared.
The former couple also co-produced Don’t Bring Your Man to Atlanta, keeping their business connection intact despite the personal drama making headlines.
Shamea had plenty of conflict of her own during RHOA’s last season.
Her friendship with Porsha Williams fell apart, leading to several clashes, particularly during the reunion, while she also battled Angela Oakley, who accused Shamea of stepping out on her marriage.
