‘The Oval’ Star Travis Cure Accused of Giving Ex Herpes…Claims She Filed Lawsuit After He Moved On

Travis Cure has admitted to having genital herpes as he battles allegations that he secretly exposed his former girlfriend to the infection.

The actor, known for his role on Tyler Perry’s The Oval, insists he took precautions during their sexual relationship and denies being responsible for her alleged diagnosis.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Cure says he always wore condoms while having sex with the woman, who claims their romance began in August 2024, but his ex alleges Cure knew about his condition and kept it from her before they became intimate. Her lawsuit accuses him of negligence and battery.

While the woman maintains she had no other sexual partners during the period in question, Cure insists they were not exclusive and claims that she was seeing other men and argues that her “promiscuous sexual practices” prevent her from establishing that he transmitted the infection.

Cure further claims the lawsuit followed their breakup, after he moved on with another woman.

Outside his role as Bobby Caden on Tyler Perry’s BET political drama The Oval, which he has held since the series premiered in 2019, the Miami native served in the military and pursued a career in professional football before turning to acting and modeling. His other credits include the Starz crime drama Hightown and films such as My Valentine Crush, My Valentine Wedding, and Christmas With My Ex.
