Stephen A. Smith has opened up about the status of his relationship with Skip Bayless on Cam’ron’s Talk with Flee podcast series.
Smith and Bayless used to host ESPN’s First Take show.
“I have nothing bad to say. I’m eternally grateful to Skip Bayless, who brought me to First Take because you should never forget somebody that gave you that opportunity. You really, really shouldn’t,’ he told Cam.
SMith says he’s tried to reach out to Bayless several times.

“It’s me letting you know that, ‘Yo, bro, I picked up the phone on several occasions.’ I called him. He never called me back. So, to me, if you’re that kind of person, that doesn’t make you bad, it just means we can’t vibe because I’m gonna answer a call,” he added.
The pair’s relationship suffered a massive blow over comments he made about former ESPN analyst and current Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick. Bayless reportedly attacked Smith on his podcast for over 45 mins after Smith’s remarks.
