Spencer Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, are suing the city of Los Angeles and its Department of Water and Power after losing their Palisades home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
The couple says that if the water supply system had been properly maintained, the fires would have been better maintained and they, and countless others, would not have lost their homes.
“LADWP and City of Los Angeles had a duty to properly construct, inspect, maintain and operate its water supply system,” the suit reads.

“The Palisades Fire was an inescapable and unavoidable consequence of the water supply system operated by LADWP and City of Los Angeles as it was planned and constructed. The system necessarily failed, and this failure was a substantial factor in causing Plaintiffs to suffer the losses alleged in this Complaint.”
The couple’s lawsuit mentions the The Santa Ynez Reservoir which has reportedly been “out of commission since February 2024.”
More than two dozen other plaintiffs were included in the lawsuit.
