Sidney Starr is asking a Georgia judge to let her out of jail while she awaits proceedings on child molestation and sodomy charges.
The Love & Hip Hop personality has been in custody since her August 2 arrest and is seeking what she described in court documents as a “reasonable bond,” arguing that she is not a flight risk and cannot afford a large payment.
Starr said she has no criminal history, has lived in Chicago her entire life and works in the “television industry.” She also described herself as “indigent” and said she could only afford a “nominal bond.”
The charges stem from an alleged encounter at an Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville, Georgia.
Police allege Starr met a male in the hotel lobby before the two went to her room, where she allegedly performed oral sex on him. Authorities became involved after a hotel employee contacted police.
Starr told officers that the male had said he was 18, according to police. His parents later told investigators that their son was under 16.
During questioning, officers said an open condom fell from Starr’s pocket. Police said another condom was also found in her possession.
Starr remains in custody as she seeks release on bond. The allegations against her have not been proven in court.
