Sidney Starr Held Without Bond as She Faces Child M*lestation Charges

Sidney Starr will remain behind bars after a Fulton County judge denied her bond request Tuesday, ruling that the reality TV personality posed a flight risk because of her limited ties to the Atlanta area.

Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, was arrested earlier this month at an Embassy Suites in Hapeville, Georgia. She faces charges of sodomy, sexual battery of a child, and aggravated child molestation involving a 13-year-old boy.

“At this time this defendant remains in a no bond status,” the judge said.

During the hearing, prosecutors said the boy told investigators Starr approached him in the hotel lobby and told him he was cute. They also said Starr acknowledged that the child later entered an elevator with her and went to her hotel room.

“The allegation is that they engaged in sexual contact,” a prosecutor told the court.

Prosecutors also argued that Starr’s television profile and social media following raised concerns about possible intimidation.

The boy’s mother submitted a statement describing how the allegations have affected her son.

“My son is only 13,” she said.

“He has been required to attend extensive therapy to begin the healing process for what was done to him,” the statement continued.

Starr’s attorney noted that her only prior offense was a traffic citation, but the judge still declined to release her.
