Sia Accused of Drug Ab*se by Estranged Husband As Custody Battle Turns Ugly

Tiffany Brockworth |

Sia and her estranged husband, oncologist David Bernad, are embroiled in a tense custody battle over their 19-month-old son, Somersault, amid their ongoing California divorce.

In court papers filed Monday, Bernad accused the pop star of being a drug addict unfit to care for their child.

He’s seeking full custody and claims Sia used ketamine and opioids during their marriage, alleging doctors recently found barbiturates and benzodiazepines in her system.

Bernad wants supervised visits, random drug tests, and $77,000 per month in child support.

Sia fired back in a Tuesday filing, calling the claims false and “an attempt to weaponize my past sobriety journey.”

She claims she’s been “fully sober for over six months” and accused Bernad of trying to damage her reputation for financial gain.

Sia also alleged Bernad was recently investigated for possession of child p*rnography.

The couple married in late 2022, and Sia filed for divorce in March, citing irreconcilable differences. Bernad’s request for more than $250,000 a month in spousal support will be heard in January.
