Old allegations against embattled sports commentator Shannon Sharpe have surfaced…this time, the allegations are regarding a female production assistant he allegedly strangled.
FrontOfficeSports claims that during Sharpe’s time at FS1, “he was accused of choking a female production assistant in the workplace.”
Two sources in the report confirmed the incident, with one of them telling the reporter that Sharpe and Fox.
He adds that “Sharpe and Fox settled with the accuser for several hundred thousand dollars,” before any lawsuit was filed.
Sharpe, who was recently sued for $50 million for sexual assault and battery by a much younger ex-girlfriend, denies the incident ever took place.
“There was no incident of choking involving Shannon on the FS1 set. On one occasion, he and a few colleagues were involved in some light physical interaction in a playful context. Fox Sports later chose to resolve the matter privately. For further details, we recommend contacting Fox directly,” a statement from his representative reads.
Since the new civil lawsuit broke, Sharpe announced his decision to step away from ESPN so that he can focus on fighting the case.
