NFL star Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara’s latest business venture paper stop have gone bust, Media Take Out has learned.

The House of LR&C, the retail brand co-founded by Russell Wilson and Ciara, is downsizing its brick-and-mortar operations, and plans to close all but one store later this month.

By July 31, the brand’s locations at the Marketplace at Factoria and Denver’s Park Meadows Mall will be shutting down, following recent closures of pop-up stores in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Long Island, New York. The Alderwood Mall location in Lynnwood quietly closed last fall, according to a report by the Puget Sound Business Journal.

When Ciara and Russell first launched the company – they told their fans that they planned to expand to 10 stores by the end of the 2023, including a store in Los Angeles.

But sales at the stores have been slow. and now the companys new direction focuses on its omni-retail strategy, emphasizing growth in its online presence at thehouseoflrc.com and strengthening its valuable wholesale partnerships with Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Revolve.

The company plans to keep just a single brick-and-mortar location – inside Denver International Airport.

Co-CEO Janelle Shiplett stated, “Our omni-retail strategy going forward will continue to drive growth across our fashion brands online at thehouseoflrc.com, growing our valued wholesale partnerships including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Revolve, and focusing on brick-and-mortar locations with airport destinations in key markets.”
